8 Hidden Gems of Boardmasters

So you know about the huge line up and the pumping surf competitions, but here are some hidden gems you might not know ever existed at Boardmasters...

1. Beach Bar-B-Q

Two things that EVERYONE loves - the beach and a BBQ. What’s better than the glorious smell of burgers sizzling over charcoal whilst tanning away with a drink in hand overlooking the beach? Head down early to Fistral Beach and grab the perfect spot at the Beach Bar until the sun goes down!

2. The Big Fistral Beach Clean

So we know manual labour may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but trust us - volunteering for the beach cleans is one of the most rewarding things to do at Boardmasters. It doesn’t take long and you set yourself up for some positive karma for the rest of the day! Full details of how you can get involved coming soon

3. The View

So it isn't exactly hidden, but it is definitely a huge gem at Watergate Bay. The View at Boardmasters is like no other... watch the sun set, have a couple of drinks and listen to your favourite acts. Life really doesn't get much better than that!

4. VIP Bar

If like us, you hate queuing in bars that can get crowded at peak times, you’ll be able to enjoy one of the finest views in Cornwall and share the same bar as artists performing on all stages! Grab a VIP ticket here

5. Boardmasters Restaurant

Treat yourself and book into our onsite restaurant for a delicious hangover breakfast, late lunch or go all out and round up your mates for a sunset supper, creating unforgettable memories. Menu coming soon.

6. Hot Tubs

That's right! Our good friends Kernow Springs, Cornwall's first pop-up Eco Spa, are on board to provide some glamourous rest and relaxation for you at this year's Boardmasters. With a private space of natural sanctuary run entirely from the power of burning wood, it includes wood fired hot tubs, a wood fired sauna yurt, hold & cold showers, private changing rooms & a cosy Bedouin chill out lounge complete with huge bean bags, rugs and throws. Be pampered before a day of festival fun or chill out in total luxury with some friends!

7. Boardmasters After Parties

If you need a fix after the headliners finish, then our series of official After Parties are for you - running from Thursday to Sunday across three different venues in Newquay. There's a return bus service running each night until 4:30am meaning you have no excuse not to party with friends and bathe in golden hues as the sun rises. Acts last year included Tom Zanetti, Shy FX, Solardo, Danny Howard, Flava D, Jaguar Skills, Deep Sea Dance Off and Garage Nation! More info coming soon.

8. The Beach Sessions

OK, ok... so everyone knows about the Beach Sessions, but they are consistently a highlight of the Boardmasters week and only the few who are quick enough to get tickets get to experience these intimate gigs. In previous years we've had the likes of the Sunset Sons, DJ Format, Tom Curren, Norman Jay, Deaf Havana, Gentleman’s Dub Club, The 1975, Ben Howard, Xavier Rudd, Newton Faulkner, Zero 7, Congo Natty, Slightly Stoopid, Too Many T's and The Futureheads, so you know you are in for a big night! Tickets for 2018 are not yet on sale. Stay tuned for more announcements soon.
