Within the hidden walls of Zennor Haven we invited you to meet the maker Jim Parkyn, responsible for creating some of the UK’s most loved plasticine characters – from Morph, Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep to get involved with a very special project...
Jim explains, "The idea behind the scene was to promote safe use of the internet or safe surfing, and to use animation as a way to open discussion on the subject. As we were set a top a cliff and looking out on to the beach and the surfing competition being the reason there is a festival, it seemed an obvious choice. We even managed to get a few surfing trolls in to the mix as well."
Jim Parkyn - "My experience of Boardmasters was incredibly positive and people interacted with the scene in a fearless and expressive way which has made a really striking art piece and film, it was also great to show folks that plasticine is completely waterproof and can be played with in pretty much any weather. Being in Zennor Haven was a beautifully restful experience and one I hope to repeat next year"
