8 Reasons Why We Love Florence Welch

Ahead of her unmissable Boardmasters 2019 Saturday headliner show, we've put together a list of reasons why we're in love with Florence Welch. From her powerhouse vocals to her whimsical style, she's a force to reckoned with and we can't wait to see her perform on the Cornish coast this summer!

1. Her Voice

Florence's instantly recognisable voice is absolutely enchanting! Known for her big voice and long notes, there's a reason why her first album was called "Lungs"!

2. Her Style

Her quriky and whimsical fashion sense hasn't gone unnoticed and Florence has performed on the catwalk for Chanel, she's graced the cover of Vogue magazine, and she's now the newest ambassador for Gucci jewellery and watches.

3. Her Caring Nature

When Florence heard that 15-year-old Karinya Chen, who was battling bone cancer, was too ill to attend her concert in her hometown of Austin, Texas she visited the hospice that Karinya was staying in to sing with her.

4. Her Lyrics

Florence's lyrics are pure poetry. She takes songwriting to a whole new level by telling stories that give you all the feels.

5. Her Collaborations

Over the years Florence + The Machine have performed live with the likes of Drake, The Rolling Stone, Josh Homme and Elton John. The most iconic collaboration perhaps is this infamous performance at the Brits with fellow Boardmasters artist Dizzee Rascal.

6. Her Energy

If you've been lucky enough to watch Florence perform, you'll know what we're talking about! Her larger-than-life stage presence is unrivalled and the bond she has with her audience is simply magical <3

7. Her Sense Of Humour

Quick-witted and enchanting, she holds her own in interviews by just being her wonderful self.

8. Her Covers

Although we can't get enough of Florence's original songwriting, she does have an amazing back catalogue of covers under her belt. A favourite at Boardmasters HQ is her version of 'Where Are Ü Now' from the Live Lounge.
