Michael Franti is a globally recognized musician, humanitarian, and award winning filmmaker revered for his high-energy live shows, inspiring music, devotion to health and wellness, and worldwide philanthropic efforts. He just wrapped the 2018 Stay Human Tour with his band Spearhead, as well as a series of special intimate appearances at screenings of his new, self-directed documentary film Stay Human, which has won an array of awards in 2018 while on the film festival circuit. The documentary also features music from Franti’s new album Stay Human Vol. II, due out January 25, 2019 (Thirty Tigers/Boo Boo Wax). The forthcoming record is influenced by Franti’s work on his new self-directed documentary. Franti explains, “I’ve traveled the globe making music and throughout the years I’ve always hoped that it could inspire small steps towards making the world a better place. Struggling with the challenges of the world I began filming my new documentary, Stay Human, telling the stories of heroic everyday people who helped me to discover more deeply what it means to be and STAY HUMAN.” The first single on the new album, “Just To Say I Love You,” was released on October 12, 2018. Franti’s past musical successes include the ubiquitous Billboard #1 single “The Sound of Sunshine” (2010) and his recent full-length releases All the People (2013) and SOULROCKER (2016), which topped the Billboard rock album charts at #4 and #5, respectively.
