Essex based DJ Martin Yeomans, AKA Shad, learnt his craft behind the decks in the analogue era in the mid 1980’s. After being heavily influenced by the 70’s funk, hip hop and disco sounds, and the particular likes of Steve Arrington and his flowing heavy bass lines, Martin soon became renowned as a bass mistro.
At the end of this golden decade of music, Shad became obsessed with the grooving sounds of House music and Warehouse raves. Inspired by the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Masters At Work and Little Louie Vega, he soon started making a name for himself in the underground clubs of Essex.
Sadly, Shad had to close his turntable lids in the noughties due to other commitments, but has been back at it again since 2016, hitting the roads with his records looking to inspire future artists with an array of funky house music.
