Introducing FARE, the solo project of Christina Smith. FARE started making music back in 2016, when she finally decided to pick up a guitar she'd owned for 5 years but never really played, and began laying down the reflective topics of love lost and mental health, into her music. Inspired by musicians such as Grouper, Told Slant, Soccer Mommy and Keaton Henson, FARE's lyrics are delicate and honest, revealing the timid approach to her music making. Accompaniment showcases her ambient guitar loops, “wholly lo-fi and stripped back” (Feedback Zine, 2017). She is described to have an, ‘Open and effortless style’ and FARE brings out a certain vulnerability in her music, immersed in emotion through her thoughtful lyrics and dreamy atmosphere.
