Born in Cape Town, South Africa, before moving to the rural outskirts of Cornwall, Jasper grew up on the Southwest coast, finding the urge to start creating music whilst studying his AS Levels at college. The artist, who is now based between London and his mother’s home of Cornwall, found his inspiration spawned from long car journeys that he would have to take with his friends when driving to college. The first to drive in his group, Jasper carried the duty to provide entertainment for the lengthy runs, from there began an obsession with producing, remixing, and re-working electronic music. Drawing influence from an array of names, from Kanye West, to St Germain and The Neptunes, Jasper’s ‘Back For More EP’ draws on a compelling network of downtempo house, hip-hop and jazz. He has secured previous tips from the likes of Jamz Supernova - who released a smattering of his earlier material via her Future Bounce label, including the ‘One Day’ EP - Giles Peterson (6Music), Phil Taggart (Radio 1) and Laurent Garnier (Boiler Room).
