‘We suspect that we are going to hear a lot more of H unger Moon, they are enchanting and fresh’ BBC INTRODUCING WEST MIDLANDS
‘Eerily beautiful’ BORN MUSIC ONLINE
Formed during the winter of 2017 in Birmingham’s creative quarter, Hunger Moon is the songwriting partnership of vocalist Natalie Jenkins and multi instrumentalist James Miles.
A combination of piano and guitar nuances, along with subtle electronic textures and heartfelt vocal delivery, their sound has previously been likened to UK alt-pop acts such as London Grammar, Oh Wonder and Daughter. Songwriting is often a joint affair between the two individuals and is influenced by their own experiences of the ever changing world around them, as well as artists such as Jeff Buckley, Amber Run and modern electronica.
Since releasing their debut single Oh Friend in early 2018, the duo have gone from strength to strength, from gaining a dedicated following in their home city and further afield through support slots with the likes of Adam French, Art School Girlfriend and Lazy Day, to appearances at several UK festivals and coverage from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio.
2019 saw Hunger Moon named as one of BBC Introducing West Midlands’ ‘Ones to watch for 2019’ ahead of the release of their third single ‘Feel It Sometimes’, released via Babywoman Records on the 22nd March 2019. This year will see new music from the duo as well as a multitude of live dates around the UK.
