Boardmasters 2019 has been cancelled.

We are pleased to confirm that all applicable refunds will be processed within 21 days. 

  • We will be refunding everyone who bought a ticket from an official seller the face value of their festival ticket, as well as the face value of all festival extras.
  • These will include litter bonds, parking and campervan passes, glamping, pre-pitched and reserved camping, phone charging, boat parties, wellbeing classes and activities and locker hire. In addition, any unscanned Boardmasters After Party tickets will be refunded at face value to ticket buyers outside of the Newquay area. Please see boardmasters.com/refunds for full details.
  • Refunds will be processed automatically by our official ticket sellers.
  • If you have updated your card details or have any questions regarding payment please contact your point-of-purchase directly.

Thank you to everyone who’s reached out with messages of support. We want to share with you more details behind the decision to cancel Boardmasters 2019. 

On Tuesday we received details of worsening weather, with 60mph (gale force 10) gusts of winds forecasted from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. High winds are extremely dangerous at festivals. Temporary structures are simply not able to withstand sustained levels of high winds. Following consultation with our safety advisors and the local authorities, it was clear the risk was too severe and the show could not run. 

We knew that some of you were already travelling. We knew that all of you would be upset and disappointed. We did everything we could, and explored all options to try and keep the festival running, but late on Tuesday evening the call was taken and we had no choice but to cancel. We couldn’t risk your safety. It was a devastating decision to make, with the festival built and looking amazing, and was not one we made lightly. 

Thank you for your patience regarding ticket refunds. Please know, ticket refunds are a priority and we are working as quickly and as hard as we can to get these to you. 

Anyone who purchased tickets via the Boardmasters website and official ticket sellers will receive a refund in full for the face value of their ticket

  • Ticket refunds will be automatically processed by our official sellers 
  • Big Green Coach are refunding coach tickets directly to customers and will be refunding the face value of festival tickets
  • Unused GWR train tickets for Boardmasters can be refunded at point-of-purchase 
  • We will communicate further details as soon as possible via email, our social channels and boardmasters.com

It’s a very surreal feeling to be taking down a show that was set to be our best yet. A lot of incredible people put their heart and soul into Boardies 2019. From our fans to the artists and our site crew, our street team and ambassadors, our sponsors & partners, event managers, friends, advisors and everyone we know, love and work alongside - to our Boardmasters family - thank you.

We confirm that anyone who purchased tickets via the Boardmasters website and official ticket sellers will receive a refund in full for the face value of their ticket.

[6 August 23:00]

Due to forecasted severe weather conditions, specifically high winds, Boardmasters 2019 has been cancelled. 

Following full consultation with all of the relevant authorities including independent safety advisors, Devon and Cornwall Police, emergency services and the Met Office, a final decision was made this evening. 

The safety of you, the fans and attendees, as well as performers and crew comes first, and the potential risk is too severe for the event to go ahead at this time.

Refund advice will be shared as soon as possible - please follow Boardmasters’ social media for official updates. 

We sincerely regret the disappointment to fans, and apologise for any disruption caused to local businesses, performers and crew who were looking forward to Boardmasters as much as we were.
