The Big One. The stage that makes musicians into icons, and icons into legends. If only floorboards could talk... this is where Jamiroquai brought his space funk, James Bay serenaded the weekend to a close, Snoop Dogg rocked the stage with his custom surf board, where Chase & Status wowed the crowd, where The Kaiser Chiefs had their best set of the Summer, and where Ben Howard came home to show his Only Love to the South West. Don’t wait for the headline sets though, with huge acts all through the day, the Main Stage has a habit of throwing huge artists at earlier times. Reef opened the stage in 2015, Clean Bandit smashed through their future hits at 3pm in 2013 & Sunset Sons surprised the crowd in 2016 – no matter what time of day you’re sure to have a ball.
It’s time to get loose to the biggest tunes of the summer. This is where club-land & major arena acts meet for the biggest indoor rave in the South West. It’s doesn’t matter if it’s grime, garage, electro or house - if it’s got an upbeat tempo to get pulses racing you’ll find it in our massive big-top arena. Previous alumni include everyone from Giggs to Andy C, Jax Jones to Sigma, Kano to Zane Lowe, 2ManyDJ’s to Hannah Wants.
Land Of Saints Stage
Land Of Saints - the evolution of our original Mavericks stage - returns in 2018. From it's birth as the bastion of rock on site we’re keeping true to our roots whilst expanding the vibe. Royal Blood played here in 2014, The Darkness slayed the crowd in 2015, 2016 saw Wolf Alice wow the stage in the headline Friday slot, and Slaves blew the roof off in 2017! And – just like the surf community – we’re a broad church. Expect to get down to Kate Nash or Kurupt FM, Wretch 32 or Example, Roots Manuva or Jake Bugg. Whatever your style, if it’s got an independent spirit and kicks hard you’ll find it at the Land of Saints stage.
The Point Presented by Relentless
The place to party with the most cutting-edge DJ’s and producers out there! This open air party goes late into the night and the tunes don’t stop coming. Acts playing The Point come from headlining the hottest clubs all over the world to create our own version of the ultimate beach party, with a stunning backdrop overlooking Watergate Bay. Last year saw legendary sets from the best in dance royalty - everyone from Pete Tong to Solardo, Roger Sanchez to Charlie Tee, and T Williams to Camelphat.
The heart and soul of Boardmasters, presenting new and exciting artists in an unparalleled setting. Come and chill out amongst the hay bales to see future headliners start their careers. George Ezra, Newton Faulkner and Ben Howard all began their journey on this hallowed stage. The best uncovered UK talent in front of the best UK landscape. There’s a reason we call this perfect anytime retreat The View. You can also expect a suprise set or two throughout the weekend, so be sure to keep those eyes peeled.
Keg & Pasty
Est'd in 1690, the Keg & Pasty is a classic Cornish pub that's seen all sorts at Watergate Bay. Prop up the bar or pull up a barrel in the same beer garden that pirates, smugglers, miners and surfers have made their second home for hundreds of years. The Keg right in the centre of the main arena, is a hub of classic pub banter and entertainment including stand-up comedy and local bands.
The Net Loft
The Net Loft is a firm favourite at Boardmasters - head here to escape the festival madness and make yourself familiar with the intimate stage that showcases the latest in new Cornish talent. The Net Loft may be small in size but it's big in soul.
The Beach Bar
Take a load off and chill out around the surfer's shack and BBQ terrace. Resident DJs and live bands will play for us all throughout the day, with ice cold drinks and food sizzling at the Beach Bar BBQ. Pull up a barrel on the deck to watch over Fistral as the surf competition takes place or jump into the Beach Sessions when the sun goes down.
With a VIP ticket you'll have access to one of the finest views in Cornwall. Drink in the view of Watergate Bay and the sprawling sea from the luxury of the spacious VIP bar; located on the same gentle slope as The View stage. Not only will you have the best view in the house, the exclusive VIP bar will allow you to relax in the seating area, enjoy privately billed artists and open the possibility of a bit of star spotting as the artists have access to the same bar!
Beats, vibes and good times. Here you can expect a selection of the finest funk, house, disco and Balaeric beats from up on the cliffs of Watergate Bay. While the sun is up, enjoy the chilled vibes of gently swinging hammocks and an ice-cold Corona. As night approaches, get your tribal body paint on and join the procession to the ultimate celebration of the sunset. Overlooking the beach, the stage comes alive as the sun goes down, and the famous sunset ritual begins: the beat drops, colours dance across the sky and the spirit of summer takes over.
BBC Introducing Stage
Showcasing the most exciting rising stars and undiscovered homegrown talent, the stage has been carefully curated by Boardmasters and BBC Introducing to bring three days of new music.
House of Marley
With chilled vibes and hammocks, the House of Marley stage is the perfect place to jam out with friends, enjoy music and learn about Bob’s roots. As the sun hots up, experience an authentic Jamaican party with live performances from special guests to guide you into the night. Take some time to enjoy the rustic rum bar with a backdrop of blue skies and reggae rhythms.
